Christmas Car Bargains

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: December is the best month to buy a car!

Why? Because car dealers are REALLY eager to make lots of sales before the end of the year so that they can meet both their annual and their quarterly targets.

Getting that one extra sale can mean the difference between making their targets or not, and so they will even sell cars at a loss sometimes! Because if the sales staff don’t get their bonuses, how will they afford to buy their little angel an Ultra Mega Mega Man… or whatever this year’s must-have toy is?

The poor dealers are not helped by December typically being a slow month for car sales. I mean, who goes out and buys a car in the run-up to Christmas? Well, we all should!

My key tip for Christmas car shopping bargainsis simple. If you see a car you want, ask the dealer straight out what the absolute lowest price is if you agree to buy the car that day… and then offer them a fair bit less.

Oh, and it is always best to do this in the first half of December, because once you get within a week of Christmas, nobody in the motor industry cares about anything apart from getting very drunk at their Xmas party.
